Mikako Koda
Our protagonist. She lives in Tokyo with her mom and attends the Ai Yazawa Institute (where she study fashion design). She wants to be a fashion designer and to own a clothes' brand, which will be called Happy Berry. Her style is japanese lolita! Obviously she makes clothes that she sells for the Akindo club.
Ruriko Koda
Mikako's mom. She's a very famous mangaka - she draws shoujo mangas obviously... Mikako sometimes even has to help her because she's known for being ALWAYS late with her schedule!
Hirohiko Sakurada
Mikako's dad. He's a photographer. We don't meet him until later in the manga. We only know he and Ruriko divorced when Mikako was a child.
Tsutomu Yamaguchi
Mikako's best friend and then boyfriend. He lives in the apartment next to Mikako. He really likes photography and attends the visual design course at the Yazawa Institute. All the older girls at the Yazawa Institute love him because he's almost identical to Mambo's singer, Ken Nakagawa. He makes weird sculptures with trash for the Akindo club. He's the one who make up the Happy Berry logo for Mikako - a really nice angel.
Mariko Nakasu
Mariko is one year older that Tsutomu and Mikako. She studies interior design at the Yazawa Institute. She's very rich and spoiled, yet very childish: she's crying all the time! Actually she has lots of issues, mostly because her first love, Shu, dumped her and she can't forget him. She even goes out with Tsutomu for a while but in the end they break up because they don't really feel anything for each other. Mariko later has a stormy relationship with Yusuke, which won't end too well. She is part of the Akindo Club but she doesn't sell anything; she only dress up as a bunny girl and advertise for it.
Shintaro Nakasu
Mariko's little brother. He can do really cute Haniwa's sculptures that he sells for the Akindo club. He's really nice and open - he quickly becomes part of the Akindo group.
Shuji "Shu" Shitani
Mariko's ex-boyfriend and true love, we don't see him really often. We only know he's really rich.
Yusuke Tashiro
Yusuke feels really cool and drives a nice moto. He also attends the Yazawa Institute, doing visual designs, and he's Tsutomu best friend. He often draws portraits for the Akindo club. In the beginning he kinda likes Mikako, then he has a really stormy relationship with Mariko but they break up. He ends up with Ayumi. He always looks really serious but in fact he just loves girls! He also gets angry easily. 
Ayumi Oikawa
She also attends the visual design course, along with Yusuke and Tsutomu. She's the sweetest girl ever and the perfect friend for everyone; she can listen to other's problems and make evrybody feel better. She's not as good as that with her own problems though - she falls in love with Yusuke but she doesn't make any move, because she doesn't want him to break up with Mariko and suffer. In fact she's more worried about Yusuke's happiness than about her own.
Lisa Kanzaki
She's Mikako best friend and like her attends the fashion design course. She's really mature and thoughtful, maybe because she's already has a pretty difficult life - she's living with her boyfriend Takeshi. Actually they moved together from Hokkaido and they have to work to support themselves. Lisa wants to be a fashion designer for children's clothes (she doesn't look like someone who likes children though - she's hardcore punk style!!!).
Takeshi Nagase
Lisa's boyfriend, we barely see him. He wants to be a rockstar.
Mai "Pii-chan" Ota
Another really good friend of Mikako's, she's just too cute!!! She's also attends the fashion design course but loves to make dolls that she sells for the Akindo Club. She always carries with her a plushie called Petit François, that has a big sentimental value to her; actually she even talks with him! Pii-chan is a bit naive and she thinks that the man of her life will come on a white horse with tights on...
Jiro Nishino
Another friend of Tsutomu's. He's really mysterious - he never takes his glasses off! He's attending the visual design course too, and he's a really good game programmer. He even creates videogames for the Akindo Club.
Noriji Sunami
The caretaker of the building in which live Tsutomu and Mikako. He's a bit weird - he has a crash on Mikako's mom! But he's really nice and always worries about everybody.
Hiroaki Tokumori
He's the owner of the Blue Parrot, a bar where our protagonists often go... For Tsutomu and Mikako he's a kind of big brother.
Seiji Kisaragi
Ruriko's assistant, he attended the Yazawa Institute and wants to become a famous hairdresser and make-up artist. Mikako calls him "the shiny alien".
Teacher Hamada
She's Mikako's teacher for fashion design - she can be really though but in reality she's really nice. In fact she understands Mikako's potential and wants her to become a good fashion designer.
The Principal
And to finish it off, the principal of the Yazawa Institute, who is none other than... Ai Yazawa herself. The Yazawa Institute can in fact be seen as a critic to the very strict and though japanese system, that doesn't live any space for more spontaneous and artistic behaviour...
